The first text adventure in history can now be played in its original form, next to the other 1594 text adventures supported by the project. The list of new developments is particularly solid for ScummVM, the old-school adventurers’ favorite virtual machine which, thanks to the recent 2.2.0 release, went back in time to 1976 by adding support for Colossal Cave Adventure. ScummVM and ResidualVM finally joined their so far separate destinies, while PCem achieved new goals in its everlasting mission to embrace all the computer hardware made during the past decades. In these troublesome months, when the world had to deal with the first pandemic in modern history and yours truly was busy setting up and testing the new next-gen PC that drained his bank account (and which we will profusely talk about later), the community of developers devoted to reviving old games and obsolete systems didn’t stop delivering new things to see, do and try.
